No….
Grace thought. “No… No, he can’t die!” She
yelled at the doctor and stood up from her chair.
“Grace…” Her mom started, but was
stopped by an angry-sad glare.
“No, you don’t get it! He can’t
die! He promised things would be okay! He promised!!” She yelled only louder at both her mom and the
doctor, both looking guilty and depressed. She ran through the big door and looked around
her. Which
room is he in?! She thought over and
over, as though if she thought it enough the answer would come out of nowhere.
“Grace!” Her mom yelled and ran
after her. When she caught up with Grace
she grabbed her shoulder. “Grace! There
is nothing we can do, your dad is…” She
began, but she started crying and wiped her tears away.
Grace pulled away from her and
faced her. “No! You’re wrong! Daddy will not die! He promised things would be okay, and Daddy
never, ever breaks his promises!! The
only reason he’s not okay right now is because those lazy doctors won’t save
him when they could’ve! If they won’t
save him, I will!!!” She nearly
screamed.
Her mom just stared at her, tears
streaming down her face.
Grace looked behind her. Now
where is he?! She thought, then she
spotted a room numbered 3. That has to be it! She thought and ran to the door, and quickly
opened it.
There he was, Daddy. He was breathing hard, and
by the looks of one of the screens, his heart beat was slowing down. His eyes look those of a dead man, cold and
lifeless, but none the less, it was Daddy. A nurse and two doctors were standing by him. The nurse had long, blond hair, but it was
easy to tell her natural hair color was brown. One of the doctors was a woman, with short
brown hair, and the other a man, with messy red hair. The room was a mess, tools and other fancy
machines were everywhere. Did
they…. Did they really try all that they could? She thought, but quickly stopped herself. No,
they couldn’t have. When Daddy makes a
promise he keeps it, no matter what. I
am not going to let him break this one!
She thought, trying to convince herself to not be afraid.
Tis end of part five. There shall be more soon.
