The Runaways (AKA: My book)

Hey guys! So I've been writing this book and I thought I ought to post part of it. Here is part of the first chapter:

Chapter 1: A Wolf Cloaked In Darkness

"Penny? Penny, wake up!" Little five year old Grace opened up her eyes.  Looking around her, she saw that she was lying in the grass, her hair a tangled mess.  She soon realized that she was in her back yard, the grass a bright green and the flowers bursting with color, and Daddy standing by her.
"Penny if you don't get up now I'm leaving without you."  He said in his joking voice.
"No, Daddy, no! I wanna come!"  She jumped to her feet and hugged his leg, seeing how she was not tall enough to to hug him around his chest.
He laughed a little.  "Alright, alright. Common, or we might miss them. Want me to carry you?"  He said, holding out his arms a little.
After she was done hugging him, she shook her head.  "No, I wanna run with you!"
He smiled.  "Okay then."  And the two of them held hands and jumped over the fence (although, again, Grace was too short to in fact jump over a fence, so Daddy had to help her climb over it instead).  Energy and joy rushed through her body.  Her red-goldish hair danced in the wind, her legs screamed "Faster! Faster!"  To her, there was nothing better on this earth then running with Daddy.
Daddy.  There was no one on this earth like Daddy.  When she was with her friends, and their dads came to pick them up, they didn't act at all like Daddy.  Neither did their moms.  Even her own mom didn't act like Daddy.  Daddy was special.  She remembered many times when Daddy told her his name, but she would always say "But I like the name Daddy, It fits you!"  But then he would always reply saying the same thing "Okay then, but you have to let me call you Penny. because it fits you."  "Why, Daddy?" She'd always reply "Because you're my lucky penny."  She loved it when he said that.
"Okay, we can stop here, Penny."
She woke up from her day dreaming and stopped.  When he stopped, he crouched down and hid in the grass and signaled Grace to do the same.  He whispered "Don't get too close to them, wolves don't like to have humans nearby."  Grace nodded her head.  She looked around her.  They were no longer in the small meadow by their house, as they had ran into the woods just behind the meadow.  Seeing how it was late spring, the tree's leaves and the grass were a deep, rich green.  Here and there there were small patches of wild flowers.  Looking up, the sky was a perfect blue, and a few fluffy clouds rolled by.  Looking in front of her, she saw that she and Daddy were just a few steps away from a clearing of the trees where a small cave stood.  She knew this place.  Once a year, a wolf pack that lived in these woods came here, for the alpha female to give birth to her new pups.  They would stay here for a couple weeks, and, sure enough, they were here.  With a signal from Daddy, they slowly crawled closer to the clearing for a better look.
There, in the clearing, Grace could see the wolf pack.  Her green eyes widened with joy and excitement.  There are the new pups!  She thought, seeing three young pups playing together.  Laying down by the cave entrance was Misty.  Daddy had told her many times that she was the alpha female, but Grace gave her the name Misty because of her gray fur.  Misty was staring at her and Daddy, making sure they knew they were not allowed to come any closer, and soon Grace got the message.  Standing by Misty was Captain, the alpha male, according to Daddy.  His fur was a dull brown, but he was big, making him look powerful.
"Where are the others?"  Grace whispered. She remembered that there were three more wolves in the pack, but they weren't there.  "They are most likely sleeping or hunting."  Daddy whispered.

So this is all I could fit into this post. I know it doesn't seem that exciting so far, but it will VERY soon. *COUGH COUGH* VERY SOON. Anyways I hope you like it so far!
