The Runaways part 3

Hey guys!  Here's more of the book:

Suddenly thousands of memories flashed before Grace's eyes.  Playing with Daddy, playing with her friends, visiting the wolves with Daddy, watching mom and Daddy fight, everything.  No...  Please, no...  She thought.  Then the memories suddenly stopped, and she heard a strange noise.  With her eyes still shut tight, she tried to listen closer.  It sounded like a woman crying, no, not just any woman.  She knew that sound better then anyone else.  It was her mom, crying.
Grace opened up her eyes and saw that she was no longer in the black nothingness, but she was in a hospital.  She also saw that she was no longer a little girl, now she looked about ten years old.  The room she was in was dull, only white and gray were the building's colors.  Taking a closer look she was in a waiting room, sitting on one of the uncomfortable chairs.  She looked beside her.  There she was, her mom, crying so hard she could fill the room with her tears.  Her long pale blond hair covered her face, but Grace could still see her tears running down her chin, and onto her lap.  No...  Please, not again...  She thought.  She looked in front of her.  There was a big door, that lead to the emergency rooms.  Then it hit her like someone told her a bad dream was in fact real, the memory of watching Daddy die.
She remembered watching him, sitting on the couch with him, acting like everything was fine, and suddenly he fell over, choking, coughing, trying to hold back the tears in his eyes from pain.  "It's okay, Penny," is what he said "I'm going to be okay.  Don't cry like that, Penny.  Everything is going to be okay."  At first she believed him, until they put him in the emergency room and didn't let her or her mom in.  And now, she was sure he was gone.  Gone.  It hit her so hard she could barely breathe.
No... This can't be happening. Please no!  She thought over and over, hoping that if she thought it enough everything would turn out okay, and that Daddy would come through those doors on his own two feet, smiling, saying "I told you I would be okay."  But no, she knew that would never happen.  People don't turn out to be okay from something like that.
"Mom... Don't cry like that.  Daddy is going to be okay..."  She said slowly.  She didn't believe a word she was saying, but at the very least she could try to comfort her own mom.  Slowly her mom turned and looked at her, her hazel eyes filled with tears.  Grace knew she was trying to hold them back, but unluckily for both of them, she wasn't doing a good job at it.  "I...  I know...  It's just...  After all this time fighting with your father, I wished at the very least...  I could've said I was sorry before... before this happened... and now..."  Before she could finish she burst into tears again.
Grace sighed and looked at the door.  It looked so dark and haunting, not letting anyone go through it.  She nearly jumped when the doors began to open.  Daddy?  Is...  Is Daddy okay?  She hoped, but no, instead of Daddy coming as she hoped, it was a doctor.  A man with brown hair, but was nearly bald, with unfriendly looking glasses, and a messy white doctor's coat.  "I'm sorry," said the old doctor, with a bit of sorrow in his eyes "but he's not going to make it."

That's all I'm gonna give you for now.  Again, this is not the ending of the first chapter, only part of it.  I hope you guys like it so far!

The Runaways (AKA: My book) part 2

Okay! Here is more of the first chapter:

Before she could reply, she began to yawn.  He smiled.  "I think we better go home.  We would not want you to fall asleep in the woods."  "But..."  She began, but was stopped by another one of her yawns.  "Don't worry, we'll come back tomorrow."  He said.  "Alright..."  She sighed, and the two of them got up and began walking back home, hand in hand, smiling.
They were half way through the forest when Grace suddenly stopped.  Something is wrong.  She thought.  A chill went down her spine, and she began to tremble.  There is something watching us, and it's not natural.  "What's wrong, Penny?"  Daddy asked, sounding a bit confused.  She looked at him, but he didn't seem worried at all.  His face shows no fear, and there is no fear in his voice!  Which means-  She thought and quickly looked behind her.  She felt her heart skip a beat.  A wolf was standing by a tree, it's fur ink black with stunning blue eyes.  No...  She thought, staring at the unnatural wolf.  "No...  Please, go away..."  She whispered, as if she feared her voice would make the creature angry, but instead it closed it's eyes and sighed.  "I'm sorry."  Said the wolf, in english, it's voice sounding like a little girl.  "But you need to get up."  Suddenly everything got blurry.  The trees, the sky, the grass, even Daddy began to fade away.  "No... No, please! Wait!"  She began running to Daddy, who was smiling gently.  "Please, Daddy, stay! Don't leave me!"  She yelled, tears streaming from her eyes.  A tear rolled down his cheek, trying his best to smile.  "I'm sorry, I wish I could stay."  Suddenly everything faded to black, and everything disappeared but Grace.  She stood there, motionless.  Daddy's words repeated in her head over and over, until she fell to her knees, crying.  She couldn't even feel the ground, being able to stand on some unknown surface.  She closed her eyes tight and screamed with all the energy she had.

Okay! That's all you get for now (heh heh...)! Like it? Love it? Hate it? Don't know? Tell me on the little voting poll thingy at the side, and I might keep posting the book. Hope you people like it! BTW! This is NOT the ending of the first chapter, still only a part of it.

The Runaways (AKA: My book)

Hey guys! So I've been writing this book and I thought I ought to post part of it. Here is part of the first chapter:

Chapter 1: A Wolf Cloaked In Darkness

"Penny? Penny, wake up!" Little five year old Grace opened up her eyes.  Looking around her, she saw that she was lying in the grass, her hair a tangled mess.  She soon realized that she was in her back yard, the grass a bright green and the flowers bursting with color, and Daddy standing by her.
"Penny if you don't get up now I'm leaving without you."  He said in his joking voice.
"No, Daddy, no! I wanna come!"  She jumped to her feet and hugged his leg, seeing how she was not tall enough to to hug him around his chest.
He laughed a little.  "Alright, alright. Common, or we might miss them. Want me to carry you?"  He said, holding out his arms a little.
After she was done hugging him, she shook her head.  "No, I wanna run with you!"
He smiled.  "Okay then."  And the two of them held hands and jumped over the fence (although, again, Grace was too short to in fact jump over a fence, so Daddy had to help her climb over it instead).  Energy and joy rushed through her body.  Her red-goldish hair danced in the wind, her legs screamed "Faster! Faster!"  To her, there was nothing better on this earth then running with Daddy.
Daddy.  There was no one on this earth like Daddy.  When she was with her friends, and their dads came to pick them up, they didn't act at all like Daddy.  Neither did their moms.  Even her own mom didn't act like Daddy.  Daddy was special.  She remembered many times when Daddy told her his name, but she would always say "But I like the name Daddy, It fits you!"  But then he would always reply saying the same thing "Okay then, but you have to let me call you Penny. because it fits you."  "Why, Daddy?" She'd always reply "Because you're my lucky penny."  She loved it when he said that.
"Okay, we can stop here, Penny."
She woke up from her day dreaming and stopped.  When he stopped, he crouched down and hid in the grass and signaled Grace to do the same.  He whispered "Don't get too close to them, wolves don't like to have humans nearby."  Grace nodded her head.  She looked around her.  They were no longer in the small meadow by their house, as they had ran into the woods just behind the meadow.  Seeing how it was late spring, the tree's leaves and the grass were a deep, rich green.  Here and there there were small patches of wild flowers.  Looking up, the sky was a perfect blue, and a few fluffy clouds rolled by.  Looking in front of her, she saw that she and Daddy were just a few steps away from a clearing of the trees where a small cave stood.  She knew this place.  Once a year, a wolf pack that lived in these woods came here, for the alpha female to give birth to her new pups.  They would stay here for a couple weeks, and, sure enough, they were here.  With a signal from Daddy, they slowly crawled closer to the clearing for a better look.
There, in the clearing, Grace could see the wolf pack.  Her green eyes widened with joy and excitement.  There are the new pups!  She thought, seeing three young pups playing together.  Laying down by the cave entrance was Misty.  Daddy had told her many times that she was the alpha female, but Grace gave her the name Misty because of her gray fur.  Misty was staring at her and Daddy, making sure they knew they were not allowed to come any closer, and soon Grace got the message.  Standing by Misty was Captain, the alpha male, according to Daddy.  His fur was a dull brown, but he was big, making him look powerful.
"Where are the others?"  Grace whispered. She remembered that there were three more wolves in the pack, but they weren't there.  "They are most likely sleeping or hunting."  Daddy whispered.

So this is all I could fit into this post. I know it doesn't seem that exciting so far, but it will VERY soon. *COUGH COUGH* VERY SOON. Anyways I hope you like it so far!
