Updates, New Beginnings, And Disturbing Poems

Hello everyone!  Terribly sorry for not posting for a long time...  I've been rather busy.

I understand that I have been tagged and awarded, which I will take care of in another post, but I have something else I'd like to share with everyone at the moment.

I am sad to tell you all that I have abandoned The Runaways.  I might pick it up again, but as of now I shall put it on hold.  Instead, I am going to write a shorter story in which I think I would be better at writing.  Sadly, it does not have a title yet, let alone have I written the first chapter.  Instead, I have written two poems to describe some of my characters in this book.

There are two main characters:  Lacey and Ivory.  I might add more, but as of now there are only two.  I might also change their names, but as of now I rather like their names.  I have written a poem for both of them, to describe their life and personalities.  Here's Lacey's poem:

Lacey's Tears

Like a jewel that sits on a pedestal
She sits on a chair made of gold
With a blank face she stares at the people
Who see her as nothing more than a charm of silver

They wear their white masks
As they whoa at her beauty
But they ignore the tear
That rolls down her pale cheek

They laugh and talk to her
while snickering under their breath
Ignoring her silent plea
For freedom from their selfish eyes

Her eyes search the crowd of empty faces
For a heart that sees through her
But not even one voice calls her name with love
Instead they say her name selfishly
As if she were a item that belonged to them

The tears silently fall
As they whisper her name "Lacey, Lacey..."

This poem was meant to describe how things look in her eyes.  To be honest I think we all feel this way sometimes, but obviously not this strongly.  To explain a little better, she's a girl in her high school years, and is quite popular.  Because she is popular, people use her to get what they want, sometimes to be popular themselves.  All of this leads her to believe that no one really likes her, they are all just using her.  Her strongest wish is to find someone who loves her, not her popularity or her looks, but her personality.

Now here is the poem of Ivory:

The Doll's Madness

She stares jealously at the blurred canvas sky
But her orange eyes slowly fade to hazel
As tears fall from her eyes and onto her hands

Yet she smiles as she turns away from the window
And she starts to laugh as she spins
Her pale hair flying furiously around her
Laying on her back she wipes away her tears of glee and loneliness

When she turns her head she stops
As black-bead eyes stare back at her
She feels heat rising up in her
As she stared back at the stuffed creature

She quickly grabs the knife beside the fake animal
And stabs it with all of her anger
But the tears once again fall
As she hugs the broken thing
She silently whispers "I'm sorry."

Now this is not through her eyes, but what is really going on.  I think you learn quickly that this girl has... issues.  Quite a lot of them, in fact.  I have to admit that I feel this way sometimes, but obviously not this strongly.  Even though she is completely insane, I think I prefer her to Lacey.  I don't know why, but I just love her.  I am thinking her age would be around eight years old, still not sure.  I did, however, find a picture that looked very much like her.  Here it is:

I think this is how she would look with her orange eyes, when she gets a bit more... disturbing.  I would show you a picture of a real person that looked like her, but sadly there are not a lot of people in this world that have orange eyes.  Rather mysterious, don't you think?  I have not found one for Lacey yet, because one, I am not quite sure how she looks, and two, I am rather too lazy to look.  When, and if I do find one that looks like Lacey, I shall surely post it.

That is all I have to say.  I shall try my best to post more often, and will keep you updated on this upcoming book of mine.
